David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church, has shared accounts of how abducted members of his church were reportedly freed after he personally intervened during contact with their captors
Speaking in a sermon captured in a widely circulated video, the cleric narrated how a kidnapped pastor regained freedom following a direct warning he issued to the abductors during a ransom call.
“one time, one of our pastors was kidnapped. When they called, I said give me the phone and I told them, in 24 hours if you don’t release him you are dead”.
He claimed that shortly after the exchange, the situation shifted dramatically, leading to the immediate release of the pastor.
According to him, “the place was vibrating” after the call, which he said forced the kidnappers to let the victim go.
Oyedepo went on to encourage members of his congregation to share his phone number with abductors if they are ever kidnapped.
“If anybody picks you, give them my number. If he is not cut down, then I’m not sent. You carry the same force if you discover it”.
He also recounted another incident involving a female church member who was abducted but later freed after invoking his words during her ordeal.
“One of our daughters was captured somewhere she told them that ‘my father said I’m getting out of here latest by 7 am’, and the kidnappers started cutting themselves”.
