Popular content creator Sirbalo has taken to social media to share a troubling experience he recently had with Lagos agberos.
According to him, things quickly turned tense after he was asked to pay a whopping ₦200,000 for offering him no service neither did he buy anything from them but just for being celebrity.
Trying to avoid trouble, Sirbalo said he offered ₦50,000 as a compromise but that didn’t calm the situation.
Instead, he said the encounter escalated, and his car ended up damaged.
“This Agbero issue in Lagos State is getting too much these days. See how they brøke my windscreen just because they demanded ₦200,000 for doing nothing for me, but I gave them ₦50,000, yet they still brøke my glass. I will spend over ₦700,000 to fix it,” he lamented.
Since sharing his story, many Nigerians online have reacted with concern, with some pointing to what they see as a growing pattern of harassment and extortion by transport union enforcers in parts of Lagos.
The incident has once again sparked conversations about safety, accountability, and the need for better regulation in Lagos state’s transport sector.
