Davido has spoken about what he would do if he ever decides to venture into government or hold political office, saying he would not completely leave his music career behind

He made the remarks during an interview on Davrel livestream in Lagos, where he reflected on balancing leadership with entertainment.

Davido thrills fans at AFCON 2025 opening ceremonyAccording to him, if he ever enters public office, he would still find a way to perform as an artist, pointing to the example of former Haitian President Michel Martelly, who had a background in music before becoming president.

“If I ever decide to work in government, I’d still be performing. Michel Martelly was a musician while he was president of Haiti, and he still performed.”, he said.

Martelly, also known as “Sweet Micky,” was a popular entertainer before transitioning into politics, a move Davido referenced to support his belief that leadership and creative expression can coexist.
