Veteran entertainer and activist Charly Boy has opened up again about his dramatic clash with former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha during the 2014 burial of his father, the late Justice Chukwudifu Oputa
Speaking on The BTC Podcast, in his defence, Charly Boy said the former governor allegedly tried to turn the event into a political platform.

He explained that his reaction was not out of disrespect but was driven by his belief that a burial ceremony should remain strictly about honouring the deceased.
“Mmhmm. Is that a crime? I for don slap am. He wanted to use my father’s burial as a campaign for politics. And you don’t do that. Not when I’m around,” he said.
Charly Boy further claimed he insisted that Okorocha leave the venue, stressing that the environment was not appropriate for political activities.
“And he knew he was in my territory. Even with all his bodyguards, na my territory him dey,” he added.
