Dennis Quaid has taken fresh legal steps as his twin children approach the end of high school.
The actor reportedly wants a judge to confirm that his child support payments to former wife Kimberly Buffington should stop once both teenagers graduate. Zoe completed high school on May 23, while Thomas is expected to finish on June 3.
Quaid currently sends Kimberly $13,750 every month, in addition to extra payments connected to his earnings. He is now asking the court to limit those additional payments to the period before the twins’ graduation dates rather than applying them to his full yearly income.
This is not the first time the issue has landed in court. In 2020, Dennis previously argued that he was open to paying more support when his income rose, provided the figures remained reasonable.
The former couple finalized their divorce in 2018 after 14 years of marriage, following an earlier breakup and reconciliation.
