Actress, Dayo Amusa has slammed Nigerians who constantly pressure celebrities to speak up on the country’s problems, especially rising insecurity and k!dnappings
Her reaction comes amid ongoing public debate over the role of entertainers in commenting on national issues following recent a.bductions in Oyo State.

In a post shared on her X account, Amusa expressed frustration over what she described as “bullying” and unfair expectations placed on people in the creative industry.
She said celebrities are often attacked for their personal opinions, their work posts, or even for not speaking up in a way critics expect, despite facing the same economic challenges as others.
According to her, many actors and filmmakers take loans at high interest rates to fund their projects, yet are still expected to pause their work and focus on daily commentary about insecurity.
Dayo Amusa said:
“I woke up today with a very heart… The bullying many of you subject our colleagues to in the creative industry is crazy…
They freely can’t share their opinion, they can’t post their jobs without being called insensitive.. We go to bank to take loans to shoot movies with high interest rate, but you want us to suspend our jobs and be posting videos of kidnapping and cursing the government daily while you’re in your own office tweeting and enjoying your environment..
The day i decided to start using this app actively, I’ve made up my mind that many of you trolls don’t matter..I won’t pander to mobs as I didn’t build my brand on it..
I have other strings of income, don’t come under my post to act silly, I’ll send you home…
That said, May God bring succor to the family of the kids and teachers kidnapped in Oyo state.. May they return home safely”

Many of them did not put their jobs on hold. They are in their shops, offices, making money, but want celebrities to put theirs on hold. Selfish much
It’s easy to call it bullying when people are simply reacting to what they see. Nobody is saying stop working, but you can’t ignore what’s happening in the country and expect silence in return. Kidnappings, insecurity and hardship are real issues affecting real people.
If you have a platform, people will question your silence or your takes, that’s not trolling, that’s reality
