A new dimension has emerged in the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, with reports indicating that the k!dnappers are now demanding N1 billion ransom alongside the introduction of Sharia law as conditions for the victims’ release
The development was disclosed by the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, who revealed that the a.bductors had expanded their demands beyond financial payment to include ideological and political conditions.

According to the Leadership, the k!dnappers are insisting that Sharia law be implemented in Oyo State as part of their negotiation terms, raising concerns that the incident is taking on a broader security and ideological dimension beyond a typical kidnapping case.
The group is also said to have listed additional demands, including cash, vehicles, food supplies, and the release of detained suspects allegedly held in Oyo and Ibadan.
Specifically, they are demanding N1 billion to be paid into a bank account in the Republic of Benin, along with two Toyota Hilux vehicles and the release of individuals they claim are linked to their network.
