Content creator Kolu, widely known as Carter Efe‘s streaming partner, has opened up about the reasons behind his decision to stop streaming with the streamer.
Kolu cited what he described as long standing concerns over finances and compensation.
Speaking about their working relationship, Kolu alleged that Carter asked him to make a substantial payment before joining Carter Efe‘s streaming circle back then. According to him, the arrangement was presented as a way to gain visibility and grow his audience.
“Before i started streaming with Carter, he told me to pay ₦5million every year if i want to blow, but i begged him and paid ₦4million instead.”
Kolu said that despite achieving greater recognition through the partnership, he became increasingly dissatisfied with how earnings from promotions and paid engagements were shared.
“Now I’m finally blow, but he doesn’t pay me well from gigs, if they pay him ₦5million for promotion he will only give me ₦1million, if they pay him 3million he will give me ₦300k, if they pay him ₦7million he will give me small money, ask him he can’t deny it i sw£ar.”
According to Kolu, these concerns eventually led him to walk away from the collaboration after years of appearing alongside Carter Efe in livestreams and other online content.
Their fallout has continued to play out publicly, after years of collaboration that helped both creators build a loyal online audience.
While Carter Efe has previously shared his own side of the financial disagreements, Kolu maintains that issues around earnings and compensation were a major reason for his decision to move on and focus on the next phase of his career independently.
