Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate for the 2027 election, has maintained that he won the 2023 presidential election despite not being declared the winner
Speaking during an interview with broadcaster Rufai Oseni, the former Anambra State governor said he remains convinced that the outcome of the election did not reflect the will of the people.

Obi said he was not interested in debating proof at the moment, insisting that history would eventually recognise what he believes was his victory.
“Do you know that in the last election I won? Forget about the proof, they didn’t declare me.
“I have contested elections in Nigeria as a presidential candidate and won, leave what’s declared because one day the story will be told.
“For now, I can tell you that I’m offering myself for the general election in Nigeria. One day, the process will recognise it,” he said.
Obi contested the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the Labour Party but was officially declared to have finished behind President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
