Afrobeats star Davido has shared a controversial statement made by Senator Francis Fadahunsi concerning members of the Accord Party ahead of the Osun State governorship election
Davido posted the senator’s comment while drawing attention to the political tension surrounding the forthcoming poll.
It contains a call for violence against Accord Party supporters and opposition to their participation in the election.
The development comes amid heightened political tension in Osun, with accusations of thre.ats and violence featuring prominently in the build-up to Saturday’s election.
According to Davido, the remarks were made by Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly. The senator is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Sharing his interpretation of the video, Davido wrote:
“This was a statement by Senator Fadahunsi now on video. Translation
‘From now on, whenever you see Accord members, kill them. I authorise you to kill them. They have wives and children too. This is a Federal Government election. On election day, even if they come with voters card, we wont allow them to vote’ – Senator Francis Ade Fadahunsi, Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly a whole sitting senator!!”
