A family seeking justice after their 21-year-old son d!ed following an alleged sta.bbing during a dispute over ₦100 in the Meiran area of Lagos
According to his sister, the 21-year-old had gone to visit a friend on Saturday, August 8, 2026, and needed cash to pay a motorcycle rider. He transferred ₦500 to the account of a biscuit seller nearby, who allegedly wanted to deduct ₦100 as a charge. When he objected, an argument reportedly broke out, during which the man allegedly sta.bbed him with a pair of scissors. He was taken to hospital but was reportedly not admitted and later d!ed from blood loss.
The suspect is said to have fled, and the family has been unable to locate him. The case has been reported at Meiran Police Station, while his sister is appealing for justice. She described her brother as a promising 21-year-old who had just received excellent WAEC results, with As in all his subjects, two days before his de.ath.
She said:
“My younger brother was k!lled on Saturday, the 8th of August 2026 by an aboki guy. My brother was sta.bb£d just because of ₦100.
“So, my brother took a bike to his friend’s place, when he got there, there’s this aboki guy who sells biscuits, just like those abokis who have kiosks in front of people’s house.
“He was supposed to pay the bike guy, so because he didn’t have cash, he transferred ₦500 to the aboki guy’s account to give him cash.
“The aboki guy said he was going to remove ₦100 charges from the ₦500. And because my brother wasn’t having it, the aboki guy took a pair of scissors and sta.bb£d him.
“He was rushed to hospitals, they rejected him, and eventually, my brother blo.od to de.ath.
“My brother was just 21 years old and had a promising future. In fact, two days before his de.ath, he sent me his WAEC result, which he made all his papers and had As.
“I never believed that was the last message my brother would send to us.
“We want justice for him. We don’t know who to run to. We have reported the case to Meran Police Station. And the aboki guy who k!lled my brother is on the run, and we can’t find or trace him.
“I don’t want this to be a regular Nigerian story. Nigeria happened to us. Yes, but please, I want justice for my brother.”
