Gospel singer Neon Adejo has broken his silence over allegations that he flirted with photographer David Martins’ wife, Alicia, and attempted to have an affair with her.
He has now explained how he became involved with her and what led to their interactions.
According to Adejo, the situation began earlier this year when he attended a conference meeting and was approached by Alicia after the event.
He said their conversation initially centred on her son, whom he had not seen that year, before he asked about her husband.
Adejo said Alicia then told him there was something important she wanted to discuss with him. He recalled noticing that she was emotional, and the two moved towards his car, where she opened up about what she had allegedly been experiencing in her marriage.
In a post he shared, he said:
“It all started earlier this year when I came for a conference meeting. After the meeting, people came to greet me as usual. And then, I saw Alicia walked up to me. The first thing she said was, hey Neon, you have not seen my son this year. And so I said, that’s true, I have not see him this year, how is your son? She said oh, he’s fine, he’s with the nanny.
“The next thing I said was, how about your husband? I have not seen him too, How is he? Then she said, he’s probably busy that’s why he couldn’t make it. So I said no problem, I was about to walk away and she said, there’s something I want to share with you.
“I looked at her eyes and I saw that she was teary. I knew it was very important. We walked towards my car, my driver was inside the car, and I said ok, what is it that you want to talk about?”
Adejo said Alicia then alleged that she had been subjected to mental, financial, verbal and emotional abuse by her husband for about three years.
He said the account came as a shock because it did not match the picture of the couple he had seen publicly.
“It was then she began to narrate to me how she’s been mentally, financially, verbally and emotionally a.bused by her husband for the last three years. Mind you, I have known David for a while, and it was shocking to me because what I was seeing on social media was not tallying with what she was saying to me at the moment.
“And so, to further prove what she was saying, she opened her phone, shared with me some terr!ble pictures.
“These pictures were so b.ad that I can’t even compare it to what she shared to the public. I don’t think she has shared those pictures before.
“When I saw these, I broke down because I just couldn’t make sense of it. It was then I asked her, how have you been surviving?.
