The wife of popular wedding photographer David Martins has accused him of do.mestic vi0lence, alleging that she suffered physical, verbal and psychological abuse during their three-year marriage.
In a statement posted on her page, she alleged that Martins attacked her on May 7, 2026, while she was carrying their three-month-old son.
She said she had chosen to remain silent for years because she wanted to protect her husband’s reputation and their family.
According to her, that silence eventually became difficult to maintain as she became more concerned about her own safety and that of their child.
She also alleged that the person Martins presented publicly as a loving and faith-driven husband was different from the man she experienced in private.
The woman said she had reported the matter to the Lagos Police Gender Unit, the US Embassy and the Canadian Embassy. She added that she had photographs and video footage relating to the allegations.
She said friends and family helped her and her son leave their home and supported them financially and in other ways.
Explaining why she decided to speak publicly about the matter, she said:
“This is not gossip to me. This is not entertainment. This is not social media drama. This is my life. This is my son’s life. And this is our truth to tell.”
