Actor Kunle Omisore has talked about what life is like for him at home, especially on days when he has a lot on his mind.
Rather than take his worries straight into the house, he said he sometimes remains in his car outside for a while, trying to calm down before going in. He does not want his children to see that he is troubled.
Speaking during an interview on the YouTube series Behind the Fame – African A-List, he said;
“I don’t have a wife. Anytime I’m troubled outside, when I get home I park outside for a while and calm down, so the children won’t know anything is wrong with me.
“Sometimes it hurts because I feel lonely in the house”, he said.
Kunle also touched on the reality of working as an actor, where getting good roles does not always mean getting good pay. He described the industry as competitive and said actors have to keep pushing even when the work does not come with immediate rewards.
“This our industry is so dark and it’s full of competition, the people around you in this industry naturally don’t even want you to succeed at all.
“You have to be dedicated and intentional about your craft because you might even work so hard and not get paid at all”, he said.
According to Omisore, he has already started taking lead roles but has worked on some movies without being paid. Even when payment comes, he said it is not always enough.
“If only people knew when l have started acting lead roles in movies and l don’t get paid at all, some that will even pay you wouldn’t pay you well.
“I will be called to a location and they will expect me to bring like 5 Agbada to act, because majority of my roles in movies is rich man vibes”, he stated.
The cost of those outfits, he said, can be more than ₦2.5 million, while the payment for the job could end up being just ₦500,000.
“That 5 Agbada is Nothing less than 2.5million and the moment l am done, l might be paid 500k”, he said.
