The first female speaker in Ondo State, Mrs Jumoke Akindele
has been impeached. Mrs Akindele was impeached last night around 10pm alongside
her Deputy, Mr Fatai Olotu.

According to reports, the impeachment was carried out at one
of the lawmakers quarters in Akure late last night.

The lawmakers have subsequently elected Iroju Ogundeji from
Odigbo local government as Speaker and Ayo Arowele from Owo local government as
the Deputy speaker.

It was learnt that 18 out of 26 lawmakers made this
decision. The Governor has also been informed.
