Nollywood actress Caroline Hutchings Danjuma has expressed her worry about the high cost of living in Nigeria.

After visiting the Sunday market in Ogba, Lagos State, Caroline shared her disappointment on Instagram. She highlighted the steep prices of basic food items: a tuber of yam costs N10,000, a paint bucket of potatoes is N9,000, a bag of rice costs N85,000, and two pieces of Titus fish are N5,000.

Caroline shared her sadness about these prices and mentioned she had to shop for her domestic staff, reflecting on the struggle many Nigerians face. She wrote, “I went to Sunday market yesterday. How are you all coping? A tuber of yam 10k, a small paint bucket of potatoes 9k, a bag of rice 85k, two pieces of Titus fish 5k. How are you all coping? I was so sad I started shopping for my domestic staff too. Everything is expensive. It is well with us.”

She also suggested that group sessions for mental and emotional support might be helpful and offered to start such sessions. “Sending you all big hugs. The sun will soon shine on us all,” she added.
