The Adamawa State Government has rewarded Super Falcons coach, Justin Madugu, for leading Nigeria’s National women’s football team to their historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title

Madugu, a native of Numan Local Government Area, was presented with a three-bedroom bungalow and a cash reward of ₦50 million by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri during a ceremony at the Government House in Yola on Friday, August 1.
Governor Fintiri praised Madugu for his outstanding leadership and tactical brilliance, describing the team’s victory as a proud moment for both Adamawa State and the country at large.
In his response, Madugu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the state government and the people of Adamawa.
“I’m overwhelmed by what is happening today. I thank God and the government of Adamawa State for this recognition,” he said.
Reflecting on his journey, he added, “When I took up this role, I saw it as a challenge to prove that northerners, too, can lead at the highest levels. It was a personal mission to leave a legacy that will inspire respect for our state.”
