The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled Nafiu Bala Gombe and members of his faction over alleged anti-party activities during its national convention held in Abuja on Tuesday
The convention, led by former Senate President David Mark, approved the expulsion of Gombe and his loyal supporters, accusing them of actions considered harmful to the unity and stability of the party.

Party officials explained that one of the major reasons for the decision was Gombe’s move to challenge the legitimacy of the current leadership through a court case.
According to resolutions adopted at the convention, taking the party to court without first exhausting internal dispute resolution channels was viewed as anti-party conduct and a violation of party discipline.
Leaders at the convention further argued that the legal action was intended to undermine earlier internal processes that produced the current leadership structure of the ADC.
The party maintained that such actions could not be tolerated as it works to consolidate unity and strengthen its internal organisation.
