After a goalless 90 minutes, the match seemed destined for penalties, but Adil Boulbina struck in the 118th minute, cutting in from the left and firing the decisive goal.
Nigeria advanced on Monday following a dominant 4-0 victory over Mozambique in Fez.
The quarter-final clash between Algeria and the Super Eagles is scheduled for Saturday, January 10, with kick-off set for 5pm local time.
