An angry mob in Dansadau town, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, on Wednesday attacked state lawmaker Kabiru Mikailu over allegations of neglecting his constituents
Mikailu, who represents Maru South Constituency in the Zamfara State House of Assembly, was reportedly assaulted while accompanying Governor Dauda Lawal on a historic visit to the community.

Residents accused him of failing to engage with the community since his election, including skipping Sallah celebrations and neglecting families affected by repeated bandit attacks.
Security operatives intervened to restore calm and prevent further escalation.
Governor Lawal’s visit was aimed at flagging off the reconstruction of the over 90-kilometre Dansadau–Gusau road. He also ordered the rehabilitation of the town’s General Hospital and the provision of solar-powered electricity to improve living conditions.
The governor assured residents of his administration’s commitment to restoring security, rebuilding infrastructure, and improving welfare across Zamfara State.
