Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s youngest daughter Mpho Tutu van Furth recently made public her same sex marriage to her partner, Marceline van Furth. She is also a reverend in the Anglican Church, but revealing her sexuality forced her to relinquish her licence to carry out her duties as a priest. She talked to the BBC’s Nomsa Maseko about choosing between her love for a woman and her vocation in the church, in which she choose the woman and emphasised love should always come first.
