Ayra Starr once spent her school days writing One Direction lyrics in her notebook. At the time, the idea of one day working with Zayn Malik probably felt impossible.
Now, she has actually made a music video with him, and she remembers just how far away that dream once seemed.
During an interview with Zane Lowe, Ayra Starr said:
“Your dreams might seem so far away, but it’s just here. You just have to work towards that. And being able to have a song with someone like Zayn Malik is something that I dreamt about.
“It felt so far away. I’m telling you, it felt so far away. Going to school every day, I was writing One Direction lyrics in my notebook and getting in trouble for it and stuff like that.
These were things that felt so far away. And now, I did a music video with Zayn Malik, and he was there in person. I was like, ‘Hello, friend. Long time no see.”
