Sheggz says he was the one who provided most of the financial support during his four-year relationship with Bella Okagbue, while responding to claims about money between them.
The BBNaija star discussed the relationship during a conversation with media personality Oyemykke, which also touched on his life in Lagos and London.
Asked whether he lives in Lagos or the UK, Sheggz said:
“Both, bro. I have my house in London and I have my house in Banana Island in Lagos.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I went to Nigeria for like five years though when I was younger.”
Oyemykke then brought up the suggestion that Sheggz picked up a “gigolo” lifestyle either in Nigeria or while growing up in London.
Sheggz rejected the description and pointed to his work and earnings.
“Bro, is it possible I’m working now, I make money and I work hard. I’ve been balling since. No be today, like for the longest”, he replied.
The discussion later moved to claims that he dated women, collected their money and moved on. Sheggz said the woman being referred to was his best friend and maintained that he also put a lot into the relationship.
“Bro, that was my best friend. I gave her the best life. Bro, I worked so hard. I’ve been balling since. No be today”, he said.
When Oyemykke asked if Bella was lying about the allegations, Sheggz stopped short of calling her a liar.
“I’m not saying she’s lying. She brought stuff to the table. 70-30. She’s a woman. She works as well. She’s a star too.”
He also said money went both ways throughout their relationship, although he believes he contributed more.
“We both collected from each other but I’m the man I did more.”
Asked why Bella had said online that he took her money, Sheggz said:
“I don’t know why she don’t want to address it.”
According to Sheggz, Bella lived with him during their relationship and he took care of most of their expenses. He also said he bought her cars.
“Bro, she lived with me. I provided everything for her, like I gave her cars. I did everything for her. I loved her to bits. Do you get what I’m saying? That was the love of my life. That was my girl.”
He also pointed to their decision not to get married as one reason their private relationship issues are now being discussed publicly.
“If we got married, this wouldn’t be a conversation because we didn’t get married, now everybody’s saying crazy stuff. It’s crazy,” he said.
