Nollywood actor Benedict Johnson recently visited Pastor Jerry Eze’s church and shared a moving testimony about God’s faithfulness.
He opened up about a terrifying health scare involving his second daughter, who had come from the U.S. to see him.
Johnson recounted how she initially felt unwell and took prescribed medication, but her condition worsened.
While he was in Kano for work, she called him repeatedly about 40 missed calls telling him she felt like her organs were shutting down. Terrified, Johnson prayed over her and encouraged her to do the same until he could get home.
At the hospital, doctors diagnosed her with cerebral malaria and warned that her chances of recovery were uncertain, including risks of seizures or coma.
Despite the grim outlook, Johnson stayed firm in faith. With prayers from Pastor Jerry Eze and his own persistent declarations, his daughter eventually recovered and returned safely to the U.S.
Johnson also reflected on his career struggles, revealing he went five years without acting roles.
He credits prayer for turning things around and shared that he’s now appeared in 14 productions this year and is set to travel to Germany for another film project.
