A fundraising effort for veteran Yoruba actress Olayinka Adebanjo has reached a significant milestone, with N15 million raised to support her surrogacy journey
The initiative was sparked by Olayinka’s emotional appeal for help on the Talk To B podcast in January, where she shared her heartbreaking story of losing her only child at the age of 28.
Actress Biola Adebayo, who hosted the podcast, suggested surrogacy as a viable option and estimated the cost to be between N15 to N20 million.
In a recent update on Instagram, Biola announced that the required amount has been almost fully raised, and a fertility hospital has offered to support the process.
The hospital, led by renowned surrogacy specialist @the_fertility_doctor, has significantly reduced its charges, covering a substantial part of the costs.
This generous contribution will enable Olayinka to use the remaining funds to start a new business.
Biola expressed her gratitude to all who contributed to the cause and urged well-wishers to continue supporting and praying for Olayinka as she embarks on this new journey.
With the surrogacy process set to begin immediately, Olayinka’s dream of becoming a mother again is one step closer to reality.
She wrote: “We have raised about N15m for Aunty Yinka’s surrogacy already. The best news is that one of the top surrogacy specialists in Nigeria, @the_fertility_doctor, has agreed to help us with the process.”
