Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez explained how his rift with Odumodu Blvck started after they both became interested in the same woman in 2023.
He said he later had a non-exclusive relationship with her for about a year before they went their separate ways.
Blaqbonez stated that he later discovered that the woman was dating Odumodu. He said the situation escalated after Odumodu accused him of disturbing his girlfriend, leading to a three-way call with the woman and further questions about their past.
Speaking on The Nevon podcast, he said:
“Me and Odumodu Blvck used to be cool; we had a cordial relationship then.
“Sometime in 2023, like June or July, we met a girl at the same place, at the same time. We were both interested in her, and both parties made moves.
“Afterwards, me and the girl had a thing for like a year, like a non-exclusive relationship. She doesn’t speak to me about other guys; I don’t speak to her about other girls. We didn’t label the relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend.
“One year down, she said it’s not going the direction she wants it to go, and the fire between us is dying, that it wouldn’t work anymore.
“We tried moving our separate ways, but she continued calling me.
“Then we stopped talking like we used to, and it felt like we’d created a good distance. At that time, I didn’t know she was also seeing Odumodu.
“Days later, I ran into her in a bar, and we talked. So I asked her who she was dating; that was when I found out it was OD.
“I asked her if she loved him, because she had always said weird things about him in the past, but she didn’t answer. I promised her she wouldn’t hear from me again and we moved on.
“Three days later, on my way back from the airport, my videographer said Odumodu reached out to him to come and film a diss track at me. At that point, I was confused.
“So I reached out to him to know if we had real issues, and he replied, ‘Dude, I don’t have anything to tell you. Anywhere you see me, don’t greet me. Lie to yourself all you want; me and you know wetin dey sup.
“Then he called me back, and I asked what the problem was. He said, ‘You dey disturb my babe.
“I explained to him that I wasn’t, and we only had a thing in the past. I told him I blocked her after finding out they were dating, and since then, we hadn’t spoken.
“Five minutes after he sent me a message and asked when last we had intercourse.
“I told him I couldn’t answer that because I didn’t want anything that would affect their relationship.
“Then he replied, ‘We’re enemies since you aren’t saying anything.
“He called me back and said we should have a three-way call, including the girl.
“So I asked what lie I told while on the call.
“The girl said I called us friends-with-benefits, which was a lie, that she had never been intimate with me and we’d never had anything. I was confused.
“The call was going on, and OD said, ‘If you were truly together with her, prove it.
“So I told him we both travelled to Ghana.
“She said I was lying, that we never travelled anywhere; we just ran into each other in Ghana.
“At this point, I almost ran mad because I bought a ticket and we slept in the same hotel.
“I told him I didn’t know what else to say, and he should just believe his girl.
“I sent him pictures of us in Ghana to prove to him that I wasn’t lying and that we had a thing.
“Later on, he asked how many times we had intercourse.
“I was like, ‘What kind of question is that?
“He was like, ‘Is it 10 to 15 times or is it 40 upwards?
“I was like, ‘Yes, 40 upwards.
“Since then, it has been constant ha.rassment, constant att.acks on social media and everywhere.”
