Nollywood actress and producer Bolaji Ogunmola has accused an airline of negligence after repeated flight cancellations left her stranded at Ekiti airport, disrupting her film production and causing significant emotional and financial stress
In an Instagram live broadcast, Ogunmola broke down as she recounted the ordeal, explaining that the airline’s mishandling threatened her livelihood and forced her to consider travelling by road despite safety concerns.

“I have cried my eyes out this morning. I am still in Ekiti,” she said. “I have actors on set, I have booked restaurants, and I am still here.”
Ogunmola had been scheduled to fly from Ekiti to Lagos a day earlier to be on set for the first day of a new movie she is producing. But the flight was delayed and eventually cancelled without clear explanation.
“I was supposed to fly yesterday, but they told me something happened, and my flight was delayed. Later, they said the flight had been cancelled,” she said.
She requested alternative arrangements, as she urgently needed to return to Lagos. The airline later assured her of a flight at 8 a.m. the next morning.
“I arrived at the airport by 6:30 a.m. They saw me and confirmed the flight would depart,” she explained. “Then it was postponed to 9:30 a.m., then 12 p.m., then 5 p.m. It’s very frustrating—they could have just sent a message.”
The delays have caused significant financial losses for Ogunmola, who revealed she has already spent between 15 and 20 million naira on the production.
“I have my crew and cast already on set for our first day, and I am stuck here,” she said.
Beyond the financial impact, Ogunmola also expressed concern for her safety, as she felt compelled to consider travelling by road.
“I am literally stuck in a state where I don’t know anybody,” she said. “Now I have to go by road.”
She criticized the airline staff for showing no empathy or remorse, describing their conduct as unfair and inhumane.
“These people have not only toyed with my time, they are also toying with my livelihood. They are not remorseful. They are unfair. They are inhumane,” she added.
Ogunmola said she plans to take legal action and recorded the live video as evidence of her experience.
“My lawyers are going to take this up. I am just doing this video so I can have evidence,” she said.
