Chelsea Football Club have sacked head coach Liam Rosenior after a disappointing run of results, capped by a 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Tuesday night
In an official statement, the club thanked Rosenior for his professionalism and commitment since taking charge midway through the season, but said recent performances fell short of expectations and required a change in direction.
Chelsea Football Club confirmed that Calum McFarlane will take over as interim head coach until the end of the season, working alongside the existing technical and coaching staff.
The club also stressed that its immediate focus remains on securing European qualification and progressing in the FA Cup, while planning for a permanent managerial appointment will continue in the background.
Chelsea added that the decision to sack Rosenior was not made lightly, but was necessary given the team’s recent struggles and overall form.
