Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has lashed out at social media critic VeryDarkMan and his supporters following their fallout, which saw both men unfollow each other on Instagram
The tension escalated after Seun Kuti defended activist Omoyele Sowore during a heated exchange that didn’t sit well with VeryDarkMan’s camp, eventually leading to backlash from fans.
Reacting during an Instagram live session, Seun made it clear he would not tolerate insults directed at Sowore in his presence, stressing that he is not obligated to take sides in disputes between people he knows.
He said:
“Una think say I go allow una come my own live come insult Omoyele Sowore and I no go defend am? If two of my friends choose to fight themselves na dem bizniz be that, I don’t have to pick sides I am nobody’s minion, but I won’t allow anyone insult either to my face.”
He also fired shots at critics and trolls who attacked him over the issue, describing them in harsh terms.
