The All Progressives Congress (APC) has requested that Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, step down from his position as Chief Whip of the Senate and resign from the party

According to the cable, the request was made in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and read on the Senate floor.
The letter, signed by APC National Chair Abdullahi Ganduje and National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, nominated Senator Tahir Monguno (Borno North) to replace Ndume.
The party cited hurtful comments made by Ndume about President Bola Tinubu’s administration, specifically his claims that ministers and lawmakers have limited access to the President, making it difficult to address economic hardship and hunger.
Ndume had made these statements in interviews with BBC Hausa and Arise TV.
