Burna Boy has spoken up ahead of the much-anticipated release of Laho 2, his collaboration with rising star Shallipopi, set to drop at midnight

Taking to social media, Burna Boy addressed confusion surrounding the track, making it clear that Laho 2 is actually the original version—not a remix as many had assumed.
“So after all these years y’all still don’t know me enough? If this ‘Laho’ was the remix then I’d go first lol,” he wrote. “This was actually the original version. It just couldn’t be cleared at the time he wanted to release it because it clashed with other releases that had to do with me. Na the remix Shalli first drop, this is the original.”
Originally released on February 21, Laho became an instant hit, going viral on TikTok and quickly gaining momentum across streaming platforms. The catchy track blended Shallipopi’s signature Edo slang with street-heavy vibes, earning widespread acclaim and speculation of being a contender for song of the year.
However, the track briefly disappeared from Spotify shortly after its release, sparking rumors of label-related disputes. While neither artist confirmed the cause, many linked the issue to Shallipopi’s past ties with Dapper Music. The song was eventually restored.
Now, with Burna Boy officially on the original version, fans are eager to hear the full, intended collaboration. Laho 2 featuring Burna Boy drops tonight at 12 AM.
