Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has set a new benchmark in music history with his I Told Them tour, now officially the highest-grossing tour by an African artist
The tour raked in $30.5 million from the sale of 302,801 tickets across 22 shows spanning Europe and North America, according to a report from a tour tracking platform.
“@burnaboy’s I Told Them… tour is now the highest-grossing tour ever by any Afrobeat artist, generating $30.5 million from 302,801 tickets sold in 22 shows,” the platform noted.
Burna Boy also set a record for the single highest-grossing concert by an African artist, earning $6.147 million from 58,973 tickets sold at London Stadium on June 29, 2024, as part of the tour.
The North American leg alone contributed $15.19 million from 152,378 tickets across 16 shows, while European dates added $15.27 million from 150,423 tickets sold over six performances.
With these figures, Burna Boy has not only shattered records for African artists but also reinforced his position as a global Afrobeat powerhouse.
