Award-winning Canadian singer Celine Dion has voiced her disapproval of former President Donald Trump after he used her song “My Heart Will Go On” at a rally without her permission.
The iconic song from the 1997 Titanic movie was played for Trump’s supporters before he took the stage at a campaign event in Bozeman, Montana, on Friday.
In response, Dion’s management posted on X, making it clear that she did not approve of the song’s use. They stated that both Dion and her team were unaware of it until recently.
The statement from her management team and Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc. read, “Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc, became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana.”
The statement continued, “In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use… And really, THAT song?”
