Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, publicly forgave her husband’s alleged killer, Tyler Robinson, during a memorial service on September 21, 2025, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona
Addressing a crowd of over 100,000, Erika said, “I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and it’s what Charlie would do.”
She highlighted that her late husband devoted his life to guiding young men, even those who were lost or troubled, and emphasized that forgiveness was at the heart of his Christian faith.
Her message of compassion stood in contrast to remarks made by President Donald Trump at the same service. While Trump celebrated Charlie Kirk’s legacy, he expressed animosity toward political opponents, saying, “I hate my opponent,” drawing attention for diverging sharply from Erika’s call for love and forgiveness.
Tyler Robinson, 22, is accused of fatally shooting Charlie Kirk on September 10 during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. He remains in custody and faces charges including first-degree aggravated murder.
