Chinese leader President Xi Jinping has formally invited President Bola Tinubu to undertake a state visit to China in September
The invitation was conveyed by China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiaodong, during a visit to the Aso Villa on Thursday.
According to a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu has accepted the invitation.
The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and China, as well as advance the proposed currency swap agreement.
According to The Punch, the statement also revealed that President Xi Jinping has extended a warm welcome to First Lady Remi Tinubu to accompany her husband on the visit.
Chen Xiaodong was accompanied by a large entourage during his meeting with President Tinubu, highlighting the significance of the upcoming visit.
