Gospel singer Chioma Jesus made history as the first female gospel artist to perform at a Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) session.
The event took place on Thursday, August 16, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as part of the church’s Global Women’s Conference.
A memorable moment from the event was when Chioma Jesus was seen exchanging pleasantries with Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Overseer of Deeper Life. The interaction was captured on video and quickly gained widespread attention online.
During the session, Chioma Jesus led the female worshipers in a powerful performance of spirit-filled songs, accompanied by synchronized instrumentals. Her use of musical instruments, including drums, marked a significant departure from Deeper Life’s traditional stance on music, which typically avoids such instruments.
The video of her performance, shared on social media, sparked a variety of reactions. Some users were impressed by her attire, while others commented on the inclusion of musical instruments, given the church’s historical opposition to their use.
