Christiane Amanpour announced she’s parting ways with CNN
On Monday, Oct. 19, the longtime chief international anchor, 68, shared that she’ll be leaving the network in June 2027, after “43 fantastic years” with the news network.
In a statement shared by CNN, Amanpour said, “After many months of thought and a few sleepless nights, I have decided to separate from CNN, my partner of 43 fantastic years!”
Moving forward, she “looks forward to interesting new projects down the line, and will always be rooting for CNN and maintaining its history of independent journalism. Remember: always be truthful, not neutral.”
Since 2009, Amanpour has hosted her eponymous interview series (Amanpour) on CNN International.
According to the network, she scaled back her hosting duties to a few days a week in January 2025 and will do the same in January when she scales back to once a week.
The show will wrap in May, and her time at CNN will come to an end the following month.
