The spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, has sparked reactions online after warning women that collecting transport fare from a man without showing up is a criminal offence
In the video, Iringe-Koko stated:

“Why will you collect transport fare from a man without going to see him? It’s a punishable offence. It is obtaining money under false pretence — 419.”
Her remark has since ignited widespread debate on social media, with many men applauding her for clarifying that such actions could lead to prosecution, while others argued that the comment was controversial and could stir gender-based tensions.
