About 250 experts met up in Kinshasa, Congo, with the help of the World Health Organization and Africa CDC to tackle the Monkey Pox virus, a serious infectious disease

The situation is serious. Last year, the Congo had over 14,000 cases and more than 650 d3aths from Monkey Pox.
Professor Jean-Jacques Muyembe, a famous virus expert, warns that the disease is spreading fast, even through s3xual contact.
To fight this, the experts are teaming up. They promise to work together on tests, improving labs, and finding vaccines. Dr. Ngashi Ngongo from Africa CDC says they need to be ready to act fast and work closely with the communities affected.
The World Health Organization is also stepping in to help. They’ll boost surveillance, talk to people about the risks, and involve communities in the response.
Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, from WHO, says they’ll work with local, national, and global partners to tackle this problem head-on.
