Actor Deyemi Okanlawon has thrown his support behind singer Simi amid ongoing debates over her stance on rape, insisting that calls to end sexual violence against women should be met with straightforward agreement, not diversion.
On Monday, Deyemi took to X to post: “When women say ‘STOP rap*ng women’… Your response cannot be ‘what abt men/children’ neither can it be ‘what abt false accusers’ nor anything else. Your reply MUST only be YES!!! You can start your own separate conversation about anything else at another time/place.”
His remarks come as online discussions intensify over Simi’s outspoken position against sexual assault, which has resurfaced alongside old tweets that critics have been sharing. The renewed attention also follows the ongoing controversy surrounding a rape allegation involving Mirabel.
