One of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense attorneys, Anthony Ricco, has resigned from his legal team ahead of the music mogul’s upcoming sex trafficking trial
Ricco filed a motion to withdraw, stating, “Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs.” However, he did not provide specific reasons, citing attorney-client privilege.
Despite his departure, Combs still has five other attorneys representing him, and his trial remains scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025.
Combs has been in custody since his arrest in September 2024 on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and faces a potential sentence of 15 years to life if convicted.
Beyond the criminal case, Combs is also suing NBCUniversal for defamation, claiming a docuseries falsely portrays him as a criminal.
