The Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday arraigned former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over allegations that he unlawfully accessed the telephone conversation of National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu
El-Rufai was brought before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a five-count amended charge, following an earlier three-count charge that was updated by the prosecution at the start of proceedings.

At the opening of the case, prosecutors informed the court that the charges had been expanded, prompting Justice Joyce Abdulmalik to strike out the earlier charge sheet.
The former governor pleaded not guilty to all five counts.
The case stems from comments El-Rufai made in February during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, where he alleged that “someone wiretapped” Ribadu’s phone and allowed him to hear conversations involving instructions for his arrest.
The court is expected to continue hearing the matter at a later date.
