The Take-It-Back Movement (TIB), a Nigerian pro-democracy group, has expressed concern over the arrest of its organizer in Kano State, identified as Zubair
In a post on its social media, TIB reported that Zubair was apprehended in the early hours of Thursday by agents of the Department of State Services (DSS).
While the exact reasons for his arrest remain unclear, TIB speculated that it may be linked to a Facebook post in which Zubair was critical of the government.
The organization stated that Zubair is being transferred to Abuja and is demanding his immediate and unconditional release from DSS custody.
TIB’s statement read: “TIB organiser in Kano, Zubair was arrested by the DSS earlier today. The reason for his arrest remains unknown.
“But sources informed it was connected with a Facebook post which had been critical of the government, and the activist is being moved to Abuja.
“We demand his immediate and unconditional release now!”
