Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has suspended three commissioners in his cabinet for absenteeism

The affected officials are Solomon Azi (Grants and Donor Agencies), Victor Chukwu (Environment), and Ikeuwa Omebe (Rural Development).
They were suspended for one month for failing to attend Monday’s state executive council meeting without permission.
Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Jude Okpor, announced the decision during a press briefing on the council’s deliberations.
He stated that Governor Nwifuru warned against absenteeism and a lackadaisical attitude among public servants, emphasizing that the suspended commissioners would be stripped of all privileges attached to their offices during the suspension period.
Okpor also relayed the governor’s directive to contractors handling government projects in the state, urging them to expedite work in line with contractual agreements. He warned that the government would take legal action against any contractor failing to meet deadlines.
