Eva Longoria has moved with her family to Mexico and Spain, describing life in America as “dystopian.”
The Texas-born actress, who spent most of her adult life in California, says she feels her “American chapter” is over and no longer wants to live in Los Angeles, which she believes has been “changing.”
Longoria, who holds Spanish citizenship, lives abroad with her producer husband José Bastón, a native of Mexico, and their six-year-old son Santiago.
The move coincides with her work on ‘Searching for Spain‘, a CNN miniseries following her previous project, ‘Searching for Mexico‘.
Speaking to ‘Marie Claire‘, the ‘Desperate Housewives‘ star expressed her fears about the U.S., especially if Donald Trump follows through on his promises.
“If he keeps his promises, the U.S. will be a scary place,” she said.
“I get to escape and go somewhere,” the ‘Flamin’ Hot‘ director, 49, explained.
“Most Americans aren’t so lucky.They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”
This comes as Trump begins filling key positions for a possible second term.
On Wednesday night, he shocked the Republican Party by announcing Matt Gaetz as his choice for Attorney General.
