Nollywood actress Faithia Williams is grieving the sudden loss of her mother, a heartbreak that came just hours before she celebrated her 55th birthday.
In an emotional Instagram post on Monday, the star revealed that she was kept in the dark about her mother’s passing until after the party, as family members wanted her to enjoy her milestone without the burden of grief.
Though her birthday fell on Thursday, February 5, Faithia opted to host the celebration on Sunday. Little did she know, her mother had passed away the previous night.
“Dear friends, my 55th birthday was on Thursday, February 5, but I celebrated on Sunday. I didn’t know that my beloved mother had died the night before,” Faithia shared.
The actress described her mother as her closest confidante, cheerleader, and spiritual guide, revealing the immense void her loss has created.
“She was my prayer warrior, my best friend, my partner in every gist truly the irreplaceable gift of a mother. Accepting her passing is still incredibly hard,” she wrote.
Faithia did not disclose the cause of death, emphasizing that the family will handle matters privately for now. She urged fans and well-wishers to keep her family in their prayers.
“While I find comfort in Allah (SWT), the family has chosen privacy. Your prayers mean the world to us. Burial details will be shared later,” she added.
