First Lady, Iya Alakara – Tinubu teases wife

President Bola Tinubu has left guests laughing after playfully teasing his wife, First Lady Remi Tinubu, during the Presidential Press Corps Dinner at the State House

While acknowledging dignitaries at the event, the President jokingly referred to the First Lady as “Iya Alakara,” a reference to the recent reactions that followed her comments about Nigerians using grants to start small businesses such as akara, roasted corn and kuli-kuli.

Addressing the audience, Tinubu said:

“Good evening, Gentlemen of the press, My dear wife, First Lady, Iya Alakara.”
