Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has spoken out against the recent xenophobic a.ttacks in South Africa following the k!lling of a Ghanaian man.
Reacting to the incident, the award-winning rapper said he was deeply disappointed, describing South Africa as one of his favorite places on the continent.
While acknowledging that not everyone in the country supports such violence, he said the growing att.acks on foreign nationals were becoming difficult to ignore.
He wrote:
“Disappointed in one of my favorite places in the world, SA 🇿🇦. I know not everyone out there is involved in this, but this is insane and makes no sense!.
I wish my South African brothers and sisters would speak up against this more strongly because it’s getting out of hand.
God help our African brothers and sisters out there.”
Sarkodie called for stronger condemnation of xenophobic v!olence, urging South Africans to speak out against a.ttacks targeting fellow Africans.
