Singer Fola has shared a very personal memory about something he once did in the name of love and it’s the kind of story that sounds almost too simple, but very real.
During a recent interview, when he was asked about the craziest thing he has done for love, the singer looked back at a moment around 2020 or 2021 when he said he didn’t have much money at the time but still wanted to do something special for his girlfriend.
According to him, he had just about ₦70,000 to his name, yet decided to send ₦50,000 out of it as a birthday gift.
“the craziest thing i have done for love was in 2020 or 2021 thereabout, I had only ₦70k but sent my girlfriend ₦50k as a birthday gift and she sent it back that i should use my money to eat”.
The gesture, as he explained it, came from a place of genuine affection wanting to show love even when it wasn’t convenient. But the story took an unexpected turn when the girlfriend returned the money, insisting he should rather take care of himself.
He didn’t frame it as regret or pride, just a moment from his past that stuck with him one of those experiences that quietly shapes how people think about love, sacrifice, and balance.
