Sven-Göran Eriksson, the first non-British manager of the England national team, has passed away. He was 76
Eriksson had announced in January 2024 that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and had approximately a year left to live.
His de.ath was confirmed by his agent, Bo Gustavsson, who stated that Eriksson passed away at home surrounded by family.
Eriksson had a distinguished managerial career spanning over four decades, starting in Sweden and later managing clubs in Portugal, Italy, and England.
He achieved numerous honors, including league titles and cup wins, and led the England national team to three major tournaments.
During his time as England manager, Eriksson faced controversy, including criticism for his nationality and personal life.
Despite this, he remained a respected figure in the football world and went on to manage several other clubs and countries.
